All our staff, parents and children are required to observe the AGTC Policies
and Procedures. Our guidelines are in line with those recommended by British Gymnastics. Our Health and Safety Policy is based on the recommendations of IGA.
Our club is affiliated with IGA and is
covered by our own insurance, as well as that provided by UK Gymnastics.
The club will promote the highest standards
of care for all members, coaches and officials by:
- Providing the correct qualified coach :
pupil ratio
- Working to session plans / badge
schemes
- Risk assessments in place and up to date
- Equipment kept in good condition and equipment checks every session
by Senior Coach and yearly inspections by site management
- Equipment set up safely and equipment set up checked regularly during
sessions
- Pre-session safety check list filled out each session by Senior
Coach
- Club Rules / Codes of Conduct in place and regularly
reinforced
- The adoption of the UK Gymnastics Health & Safety and Welfare
Policy
- Ensuring that key members of staff are suitably trained and that all staff are
aware of Child Protection and Health, Safety and Welfare issues and have read relevant club policies
- Ensuring that best practice coaching guidelines are followed at all
times
- Ensuring skills are taught safely and progressively and children are only
allowed to try moves they are ready to learn
- Ensuring that a minimum of two responsible adults are present at all training
sessions or events
- Ensuring a qualified first aider and first aid kit is present at all club
sessions
- Ensuring reporting procedures are followed for any accidents or
incidents
